Candy Corn into Homemade Candy Bars!

Here is a SUPER EASY recipe for making Homemade Butterfingers! Anything that only requires three ingredients and a microwave is right up my alley.

16 oz. candy corn

2 c. natural peanut butter, creamy.  The less oily the peanut butter, the better.

Chocolate Bark or Chocolate Coating

You start by melting the candy corn in the microwave.  Nothing you can’t handle.  Do it in 30 second intervals, stirring in between.  It will be super thick, but you want to keep melting it until it’s smooth, like the picture on the right.

Once completely melted you are going to measure out 2 cups of peanut butter.  The reason I think natural is best, you can usually pour off the excess oil, the dryer the peanut butter the better.  I used CHEAPO oily Peter Pan, and my bars never hardened.  My mom had used an all natural and her bars were much more dry and “butterfinger” like.  Although my are still DELICIOUS!  Once I coated them in chocolate it was no problem that they weren’t hard.  Take your 2 cups of peanut butter and mix into your melted candy corn.

Once mixed well, I used my man mixer, Tim.  Your gonna wanna barf because the mixture looks disgusting.  But keep going, it is worth it.  Prepare you pan with wax paper.  And pour that “beautiful” mixture into the pan.  It should flatten out and look like the third picture.

It takes about 3-4 hours to harden. Once harden, mine never really did.  I cut into finger length rectangles, bar shapes.

Next, I took a really expensive “chocolate coating” and melted it. If you can afford a good melting chocolate, go for it.  I used a fork to dip these little bad boys.  I placed them back onto the wax paper to dry.

The finish product is delicious!  I think they taste crazy close to a real butterfinger.  Mine weren’t as dry as a butterfinger, but they were flaky!  I couldn’t believe it!  I hope you will enjoy them!  Have you tried these before?  What did you think?
