Trying to organize the mess we call accessories…

So much like my other crafty stuff, I had this window lying around as well.  There is a curse to being crafty.  You buy stuff with “plans” of using it somehow, but sometimes it takes YEARS to figure out what the heck your gonna do with it.  So… I have been needing a place to put ALL of my jewelry.  I have a lot of jewelry.  I keep it all, because you never know when you’re gonna need it.

Materials:

Window

Tiny Nails & Hammer

Thin Wire

Ruler & Pencil

First you have to kick out the middle of a window. Just don’t get cut.  Or do that at all, actually.  Mine already had the middle missing.  I used the ruler to measure out one inch increments on all four sides.  I used shorter nails at first, but I realized thin longer nails worked better and could take the tension.  The short ones popped out too easily.

Once all the nails were around all four sides, I went back and forth and wrapped the wire around the nails as tight as I could.  Surprisingly, you can’t actually get it that tight.  And it didn’t take that long, not near as long as the flipping wreath.   But I like the way it turned out.

Here are a few pieces of my jewelry hanging.  I have lots more, but I wanted it to still look good and I didn’t want to make you jealous.

Yea, not much to it.  But I did learn, you really can’t get the wire tight, drive the nails in deep so they won’t pull out when you wrap the wire.  It’s so easy!  Wish I hadn’t put this off for like a year. Don’t you hate that!  When you’ve put something off because you think it’s going to be annoying to do and it totally wasn’t.
